I believe the changes I implemented this semester were highly beneficial for both myself and the students. The overall quality and atmosphere of the class have clearly improved. Through these experiences, I not only enhanced my teaching techniques but also developed a deeper understanding of how students engage with the material. At the beginning, I was not entirely sure how much impact the EMI group would have on my teaching. However, after actively participating and applying the feedback I received, I realized how valuable the group truly is. The discussions, peer observations, and shared teaching strategies offered by the EMI community have provided me with new perspectives and practical suggestions that directly improved my classroom performance.
Overall, I found that feedback and suggestions from the teacher community were among the most valuable factors in improving my class. Exchanging experiences with other instructors allowed me to identify areas I had not noticed before and to find new, creative ways to address them. Teaching can sometimes be an isolated activity, but being part of a supportive and collaborative community has helped me grow as an educator. I am grateful for these interactions, which not only enhanced my teaching effectiveness but also strengthened my motivation to continue improving.
The feedback I received not only helped me refine specific aspects of this course—such as pacing, interaction, and classroom communication—but also provided insights that are broadly applicable to other subjects I teach. Many of the teaching strategies and techniques that proved effective here, such as incorporating more interactive questioning, balancing lecture speed, and fostering a relaxed classroom atmosphere, can be readily adapted to different courses and learning contexts.
In future semesters, I plan to systematically apply these successful approaches to my other classes as well. By doing so, I hope to maintain a consistent level of clarity, engagement, and inclusiveness across all of my courses. Furthermore, I will continue to seek feedback from both students and colleagues to ensure that my teaching methods continue to evolve and respond to the needs of each class.
All of my teaching materials have been carefully in easy English, designed to be understood by non-native speakers. These materials will continue to serve as valuable resources for future courses. With further refinement and minor updates based on new feedback, I expect them to remain highly useful and effective in the coming academic year.
